The Ghana Football Association Vice President, Mark Addo has confirmed that over 500 coaches have applied for the vacant Black Stars coaching role.
The job remains vacant following the dismissal of Chris Hughton at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
A five member committee has been setup to recommended a coach.
“We received over 500 applications for the job and have shortlisted a handful. We are currently going through them and want to finish by next week,” he told Kumasi based Akoma FM.
“Nobody wants outcomes more than we (the FA), believe me; it just happens that things don’t always go as planned for various reasons, but we must keep moving forward,” He added.
Ghana will face Mali and Central Africa Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
