We have already forgotten about Mbappe, says Florentino Perez

After seeing Los Blancos defeat Liverpool in the Champions League final, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez claimed the club has “already forgotten” about their unsuccessful pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.

When his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ended in the summer, the 23-year-old was generally expected to join the Spanish champions, and last summer, Real Madrid had a £180 million deadline day bid for the 2018 World Cup champion rejected.

Last week, though, the France international signed a contract extension with the Parc des Princes club that would keep him at the club until 2025.

Speaking after the match with Movistar, Perez vowed the Spanish giants will continue to chase the world’s best players after their transfer disappointment.

“Mbappe is already forgotten,” he said.

“We have had a perfect season and we will continue to work to get the best players.”

The hunt is thought to have already begun, with Sadio Mane of Liverpool and Richarlison of Everton both linked with a move to the Bernabeu.
