Ten men. One point. Massive statement.
Vision Football Club dug deep and defended with everything they had to frustrate Asante Kotoko SC in a tense 0-0 stalemate at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The turning point came in the 69th minute when Mohammed Awudu received his second yellow card for halting a dangerous counterattack. Reduced to ten men in hostile territory, Vision had a decision to make — collapse or resist.
They chose resistance.
Goalkeeper Godwin Ametefe turned into a wall, producing a string of vital saves, particularly in the first half, to deny a Kotoko side that dominated possession and territory but lacked the killer touch.
Kotoko enjoyed 60 percent of the ball and unleashed 17 attempts on goal — nine on target — yet found no way past the inspired Vision defence. Even with a man down, the visitors managed seven shots on target of their own, proving they had not travelled to Kumasi merely to survive.
For Kotoko, it was frustration written all over the afternoon.
Dominance without reward. Pressure without precision.
The Porcupine Warriors remain fourth and now sit seven points behind the league leaders ; a gap that suddenly feels heavier.
But for Vision, this was more than a draw.
It was grit. It was discipline. It was a lifeline in their relegation battle.
And in Kumasi, against one of Ghana’s biggest clubs, that single point may feel like gold.
