Black Starlets head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum believes his side is motivated enough to overturn their group-stage defeat to Ivory Coast when they meet again in the WAFU B U17 Boys Championship final.
Ghana, who lost 3-0 to the hosts in the group stage, arrive at the decider in high spirits after a commanding 2-0 victory over Nigeria in the semi-final, courtesy of first-half strikes from Michael Awuli and Robinho Yao Gavi.
The triumph not only booked their place in the final but also reignited hopes of securing continental qualification.
Hosts Ivory Coast sealed their ticket to the grand finale by edging Burkina Faso 2-1, and they will be banking on home advantage as well as their earlier 3-0 group-stage win over Ghana.
“We’ve played them, we’ve seen them play and they’ve also seen us play,” Ogum said ahead of the clash.
“They defeated us and it’s the second time to play them and I think it’s enough motivation for us to come in strongly and make sure what happened in the group stage does not happen again.”
