The floodlights at the University of Ghana Stadium will burn bright on Sunday, May 18, 2025, as two giants of Ghanaian women’s football collide in the grand finale of the Women’s Premier League.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Police Ladies will battle not just for the title, but also for a place in the upcoming WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
Ampem Darkoa captain Comfort Yeboah, gave fans a glimpse into the team’s state of mind heading into the blockbuster clash.
“Everything is progressing well, especially with our training sessions. The team is fully focused and highly motivated,” she said, underscoring the champions’ readiness.
The Northern Zone winners, who amassed 37 points over 18 matchdays, will face a Police Ladies side that topped the Southern Zone with 39 points; setting the stage for a thrilling contest under the lights.
When asked about the threat posed by their opponents, Comfort Yeboah made it clear that Ampem Darkoa are not underestimating anyone.
“We are extremely determined and do not take any team lightly. Our preparations have been intense, and our sights are set high. The unity and strong spirit in camp give us an extra boost as we head into the match,” she noted.
With the stakes sky-high, Yeboah also had a message for fans:
“I encourage all our fans to come to the stadium and cheer us on. We are ready to put on a great performance and make you proud.”
