WAFU Zone B U17: Burkina Faso 1-0 Ghana

Ghana’s U17 side, Black Starlets, recorded yet another mammoth failure in youth football as the twinkle starlets failed to shine in a contest against cross-border rivals Burkina Faso at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening.

In a semi-final clash that required Ghana to seal victory to qualify for the U17 AFCON, Burkina Faso talisman Ousmane Camara sliced the ball home from a penalty kick to record victory for the young stallions.

Ghana’s 2-0 win over Togo helped Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side to qualify for the semi-final while Burkina recorded a near-perfect run in Group B, beating Ivory Coast, Benin, and Niger to the top spot.

Nigeria have reached the final alongside Burkina after thrashing Ivory Coast in the other semi-final game.

The performance of the team has left many soccer fans in Ghana to question the appointment of Fabin who has been the head coach of the team since 2016.
