Ghana responded three minutes later which saw the game on level terms through a penalty kick by striker Abdul Adam but the Black Starlets were pegged back again through Bouba Meite in the 14th minute.

After recess, Ghana fought back to score twice through Richard Apokum in the 58th minute and a late goal from Abdul Razak Salifu in the 92nd minute to make it 3-2 for the Black Starlets.
