WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers: Police Ladies bow of competition

Police Ladies’ dreams of qualifying for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League were shattered after a 4-1 thrashing by ASEC Mimosas in the WAFU B qualifiers.

The Ghanaian champions struggled to contain the Ivorians, who capitalized on defensive lapses to take a 2-0 lead into halftime and extended their advantage soon after the break.

Habibou Ouedraogo’s stunning strike sealed a 3-0 lead for ASEC before Sarah Nyarko pulled one back for Police Ladies with her second goal of the tournament.

However, ASEC quickly restored their three-goal cushion with another goal, securing a spot in the final and leaving Police Ladies to contest the third-place playoff on September 5.

Despite their valiant efforts, Police Ladies fell short of their goal to reach the continental stage for the first time.
