Ghana’s Black Maidens kicked off their 2024 WAFU Zone B U17 Girls Cup journey with a convincing 4-1 win against Benin at Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Thursday

Priscilla Mensah shot Ghana into the lead just six minutes of the game.

This initial strike was followed by a well-taken goal from Christiana Ashiaku, who doubled Ghana’s lead 11 minutes later.

Ashiaku continued her blistering performance netting two additional goals completing her hat-trick giving Ghana a commanding 4-0 lead by halftime.

After the break Benin put their house in order with some beautiful performance but managed to score only one goal as the host ended the picking the maximum points.

The Black Maidens will be looking forward building on this great start as they go into their next game in the ongoing campaign.
