Ghana’s hopes of reaching the final of the 2025 WAFU-B Boys Cup were dashed after a 2-1 loss to Ivory Coast in a closely fought semi-final at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
The Black Satellites got off to a flying start, with Benjamin Tsivanyo opening the scoring just two minutes into the game with a powerful strike from outside the penalty area.
But the Ivorians hit back before the break, drawing level in a first half that saw both sides display tactical discipline and attacking intent.
Ghana looked promising in stretches, dominating aerial battles and showing fluid movement in attack.
However, it was Ivory Coast who made their pressure count, as Ali Kone netted the winner in the 69th minute with a stunning long-range effort.
The young Elephants stood strong in the closing stages to deny Ghana a comeback and sealed their place in the final, where they will face Nigeria at the University of Ghana Stadium.
