Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu scored his first goal in the Europa League for Qarabag against French side Nantes.

The 25-year-old scored the opening goal as Azerbaijani side Qarabag defeated Nantes 3-0 in the Europa League.

Despite having failed to win any of their previous 10 Europa League home games, Qarabag put on a stunning performance to defeat the French side and secure their first victory in the competition.

Owusu came close to scoring twice before scoring in the 60th minute.

He beat Nantes goalkeeper Lafont with a fine finish to give Qarabag a well-deserved lead.

As Nantes crumbled, the hosts’ goals came thick and fast. Abdellah Zoubir doubled Qarabag’s lead before Marko Jankovi scored a stunning third to kill the game.

Owusu, 25, has three goals and one assist so far this season, with the striker profiting from his new role as the focal point of the team’s attack.
