This weekend the Bundesliga returns for another action-packed campaign. One of the more intriguing games is Stuttgart hosting RB Leipzig at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena.

Stuttgart

Die Roten Bullen head into this game on the back of a positive pre-season. Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team has recorded five straight wins in pre-season, including winning 1-0 at Dynamo Dresden last time out in the DFB Pokal.

Stuttgart finished last season in slightly inconsistent form and only avoided finishing in the relegation play-off spot courtesy of a superior goal difference to 16th place Hertha Berlin.

However, they did at least end the Bundesliga with a three-match unbeaten run, which was ultimately enough to keep them out of the dreaded relegation play-off spot.

Stuttgart finished the season with a decent run of home form, as they lost just one of their last six league matches at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena, while also winning three of their last five home games in the German top-flight.

RB Leipzig

Contrary to their hosts, Die Roten Bullen has not enjoyed the best of times in pre-season. Domenico Tedesco’s team followed up a 5-0 hammering by Liverpool in a pre-season friendly by losing 5-3 against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup.

Leipzig also endured a poor end to last season’s Bundesliga campaign, winning just one of their final four matches of last season.

Their end-of-season games at least provided good entertainment, as there were over 2.5 goals scored in five of their final seven games of the campaign.

Despite picking up just one point from their last two away games in the German top-flight, RB Leipzig has won five of their last seven matches on their travels in the Bundesliga.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that RB Leipzig will bounce back from their recent poor results and record a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
