Veteran Malik Jabir begins work as Asante Kotoko technical manager

Experienced coach Malik Jabir has begun active work as Asante Kotoko technical advisor.

GHANASoccernet.com understands that Jabir was long registered as the club’s technical manager on the Ghana FA Club Licensing Regulation.

The club legend has been drafted in to assist interim coach Michael Osei to prepare for the remaining eight matches in the Ghana Premier League.

Jabir was spotted at the Kotoko’s Adako Jachie training ground last Friday morning and addressed the players.

“Your coach and assistants are here because they have the technical know-how to guide you. Take their criticisms in good faith. Don’t feel bad about them or take them personally,” he said.

“You must take his training seriously and abide by his instructions. Those of you who played against Edubiase know the mistakes you committed.

“You must be sincere with yourselves and accept those mistakes and work hard to correct them.”

Jabir has rich coaching experience on the continent having coach in neighbouring West African countries.

The ex-international was on the bench when Kotoko won their last African title in 1983.
