On Saturday night, Valencia hosts Athletic Bilbao at the Mestalla in a massive game for Los Che and their hopes of breaking away from La Liga’s relegation zone.

The home team heads into this clash on the back of a terrible run of form in La Liga. Los Che are winless in six league matches, having suffered five defeats in the poor run of league form.

The poor run of results has left Valencia in 17th place in La Liga, just a point above the relegation zone.

However, the league table is so congested in that section of the table that a win could see Los Che move up to as high as 12th place if results go their way in round 21.

Valencia has even struggled to pick up results on home soil in recent months, winning just one of their previous six league matches at the Mestalla while losing three of their last five home league games.

While Valencia toil to escape the relegation zone in La Liga, the visitors are looking to secure European football for next season.

The Basque giants are currently in eighth place in La Liga and just two points off the top six.

However, like the home team, Athletic’s recent form in La Liga has been poor. A 4-1 victory over Cadiz last time out ended a five-game winless run for Bilbao in La Liga while also ending a three-game losing streak in the Spanish top-flight too.

Athletic’s recent away record is poor, as the boys from Bilbao have failed to win in their previous seven La Liga games on their travels.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that Valencia will boost their survival hopes by recording a victory in a relatively high-scoring encounter.
