Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi believes his debut season with the club had mixed results due to injuries that hindered his momentum.
After joining the Porcupine Warriors in July 2024, Antwi made a promising start, scoring on his first start in a 1-1 draw against Young Apostles.
However, his progress was disrupted by injuries and personal setbacks, limiting his impact for the remainder of the season.
“It was a great start for me. After my call-up to the Black Stars, I had issues—injuries, personal issues,” Antwi said. “I would say it was a great start, but going forward, I came down due to the injuries and what I was going through as well. I would say it was 50/50,” he told the club’s media.
The 23-year-old made 24 appearances for Kotoko, including 15 starts, but missed a significant part of the season due to fitness issues.
Despite the setbacks, Antwi is determined to end the season on a high note as Kotoko prepare to face Golden Kick in the MTN FA Cup final on Sunday, June 14. A win in the FA Cup final would be a great way for Antwi to bounce back from his injury-plagued season.
