Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that his outfit does not operate with an approved budget until clearance is given by the Presidency.
Adams made this known during a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, where he provided details of Ghana’s preparations for Match Days 7 and 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
“The Ghana Football Association submits what I will describe as estimates, which the Ministry forwards to the Presidency after analysing its details,” he explained.
“Until the Presidency approves, we do not have a budget.”
The Minister stressed that the briefing was in line with President John Mahama’s directive to ensure transparency in financing the national teams.
The Black Stars will face Chad in N’Djamena on September 4 before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8. Otto Addo’s men departed Accra on Tuesday afternoon for the first leg of the double-header.
