Former Ghana U-17 head coach Laryea Kingston has broken his silence on his shocking resignation, citing an “unhealthy environment” as the primary reason.
Kingston stepped down after the Black Starlets failed to qualify for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, losing in the WAFU B U-17 tournament semifinals in Accra.
“I don’t think it’s a runaway. This is a typical example of how you should work hard and not only work hard when people are watching you. As soon as I resigned then the emails started coming,” he told Joy Sports.
“The environment was not healthy for me so that is the more reason why I resigned.”
The former Hearts of Oak player is currently the coach at RPS Academies in the United States, where he looks forward to nurturing young talent.
