Unhappy Legon Cities FC refuse to train over unpaid salary arrears

Players of Legon Cities FC have refused to train today, Thursday, May 12, 2022, over unpaid salary arrears.

According to information gathered from trusted sources, the players of the Ghana Premier League club were recently owed three months’ unpaid salary.

However, after that famous victory against Asante Kotoko, the management of the club cleared one month from the three months.

To date, players have been unhappy over the none payment of the remaining two months’ salary and have complained several times.

With all efforts to compel management to settle the arrears proving futile, the playing body has decided to today boycott training.

Sources say the players are determined and will not return to training on Friday if management refuses to attend to their demands.

The Royal club this season has done fairly well and as a result, looks set to finish in the top half of the standings of the Ghana Premier League.

Up next for the Accra-based club, the team will take on Dreams FC at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
