Ghana’s Black Satellites and the Democratic Republic of Congo are set to clash in a highly anticipated opening Group C match at the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. The Satellites are looking to start their campaign on a winning note, and the team’s morale is very high going into the match, which takes place on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 9 pm local time (1800 GMT) at the Suez Stadium.

The Satellites team boasts of talented players who are eager to make a significant impact in the tournament, with the primary objective being to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025.

The match promises to be an exciting encounter between two talented teams, with Ghana looking to start their campaign on a winning note and DR Congo seeking to make a statement against a strong Ghanaian side.

In Friday’s other Group C encounter, defending Champions Senegal would be looking to begin the defence of their title with a win over the Central African Republic.

After the first round of matches, Ghana will next face off against Senegal on the 5th of May, in a clash of West African powerhouses, before concluding the Group phase on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, against Central African Republic.

The top two teams from the group will qualify for the quarterfinals, along with the two best third-placed teams from across three Groups. The four semi-finalists will book their places at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025.

The Total Energies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2025 commenced on 27th April and will run until the 18th of May 2025.
