U20 AFCON: Egypt U20 captain describes Ghana tie as make-or-break

Ahmed Khaled “Kabaka”, captain of Egypt’s U20 national team, has emphasized the significance of the upcoming quarter-final match against Ghana at the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Kabaka acknowledged the strength of the Black Satellites squad, recognizing the challenge that lies ahead for the Young Pharaohs.

“We all consider the Ghana match as make or break,” Kabaka said.

Despite the anticipated difficulty, he expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion. “Everyone knows how tough this game will be, but we are counting on our strength of character,” he added.

Kabaka’s motivation extends beyond the match itself, as he aims to bring joy to the Egyptian people. “We want to put a smile on the faces of Egyptians,” he said.

The highly anticipated match between Ghana and Egypt is set to take place on Monday, May 12 at the Suez Stadium.

Both teams are determined to secure a win, which would not only advance them in the tournament but also guarantee qualification for the FIFA U20 World Cup.
