Ghana U-20 head coach Desmond Ofei has revealed that his technical team has extensively scouted and monitored the DR Congo team ahead of their opening match in the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Satellites will kick off their campaign against DR Congo at the Suez Stadium in Egypt, with the match scheduled to begin at exactly 18:00 GMT on Friday, as confirmed by CAF.
“We’ve done extensive scouting,” Coach Desmond told CAF media ahead of DR. Congo game.
“Senegal are the reigning champion for a reason, very well-organized and consistent. D.R Congo and the Central Africa Republic also bring different tactical profiles. We’ve studied each team closely and will prepare well for every match.”
Ghana are drawn in Group C alongside DR Congo, defending champions Senegal, and the Central African Republic.
The last time Ghana featured in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations was in Mauritania in 2021, where they won the tournament.
