New Year’s Day will see Toulouse and Ajaccio clash in Ligue 1 as the two clubs meet with just two spots in the French top flight keeping them adrift from one another ahead of a clash at Stadium TFC.
Both teams are heading into this game off the back of very contrasting results and worse yet for Toulouse after such a bad loss, they have had a day less to rest and prepare for this match.
?’??? ???????́ …

Les Pitchouns were smashed by Marseille in their last game to bring them back down to earth after what was being described as a decent season for them.
Branco van den Boomen scored for his side that day from the penalty spot, but in conceding five second half goals, Philippe Montanier saw his side lose 6-1 in what is their biggest Ligue 1 loss in many years.
Toulouse are coming into this game having now conceded 33 goals in just 16 games. It is the second-most number of goals let in this Ligue 1 campaign, as only Angers in last place have conceded more.
Toulouse have also lost eight times now as well, with only Montpellier just above them in the league table losing more for those sitting outside of the bottom four.
Worse yet, as the club lose to Rennes, Monaco and Lens before the World Cup break, while also drawing with Istanbul Basaksehir and losing to Galatasaray in friendlies this month, it does mean Toulouse last win actually came against Angers in a 3-2 victory in mid-October.
As for Ajaccio, their form has greatly improved in recent months with them now rocketing themselves into 15th and off the foot of the table. Better yet, they beat Angers last time out thanks to a penalty from Youcef Belaili, which now puts them two points above the bottom three.
On the other hand, Ajaccio have scored the joint-fewest goals in Ligue 1 this season with just 15 goals scored from 16 outings.
Despite the improved form from Ajaccio in recent months, the club are still expected to fight closer to the bottom half of the table than the top 10.
What’s more, their inability to win more than two games on the bounce this season doesn’t bode well for them here with Toulouse eager to bounce back from such a demolition job from Marseille.
Forebet predicts a win for Toulouse and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
