Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the signing of Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on a season-long loan, with an obligation for the deal to become a permanent transfer next summer.
The London club welcomed Marmoush through its official website with the message “Welcome, Omar”, confirming that the forward will join head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s project. His arrival is expected to rank among Tottenham’s leading additions during the summer transfer window.
Marmoush said he was delighted to have completed the move and was eager to begin his time in north London.
“It’s a great feeling to be here, I’m very excited to start my journey with the team and I can’t wait to meet the fans,” he said.
“Tottenham are one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and the club’s project was very attractive to me. I spoke with the manager and I really liked what he said. I’m confident that our passion for football will help us achieve success together.”
Tottenham also released a video across their social media platforms to announce the transfer. The footage included a welcome from the Tottenham supporters’ association in Egypt.

Tottenham praise Marmoush’s quality
Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange said the agreement underlined the club’s ambitions and described Marmoush as a player capable of making a significant contribution.
“Omar is a player with great quality, and he has proved his ability to perform at the highest levels. We believe he will be an important part of achieving our goals in the coming years, and we look forward to seeing him make a strong contribution to the team,” Lange said.
De Zerbi also highlighted the qualities that attracted Tottenham to the Egypt forward, pointing to his ambition, pace and attacking intelligence.
“Omar is exactly the type of player we want at this club. He is ambitious, hungry for success and possesses exceptional attacking quality, as well as speed, intelligence and danger in front of goal. I believe he can take our attacking strength to a new level,” said the Italian manager.
Marmoush began his career with Wadi Degla before moving to German club VfL Wolfsburg. He later impressed during a loan spell at Stuttgart, while his reputation grew significantly at Eintracht Frankfurt.
In 67 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt, Marmoush scored 37 goals and supplied 20 assists.
He joined Manchester City in January 2025 and made a strong start in the Premier League, including a hat-trick against Newcastle United. Marmoush also won the Premier League Goal of the Season award and helped Manchester City claim the League Cup and FA Cup.
His move to Tottenham now represents the next stage of his club career.
At international level, Marmoush has won 55 caps for Egypt and scored 11 goals. He has appeared at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and played at the World Cup for the first time this summer, continuing his career with one of the Premier League’s most prominent clubs.
