Top 3 Chelsea players to sign on FPL for the 2022/23 season

Top 3 Chelsea players to sign on FPL 22/23

Chelsea have revealed their current squad’s prices for the upcoming Fantasy Premier League season, with plenty of interesting options for managers to consider ahead of the opening day.

This series will see 101 explore the three best picks for your Fantasy Premier League side from all 20 Premier League clubs ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. Make sure to check back to the site every day for more FPL tips and updates across the forthcoming season.

Finishing third last season, the Blues will always offer managers plenty of opportunities for points, and we take a look at the three that you should maybe consider before the season starts.

Reece James (Defender, 6m)

First on the list is right-back Reece James, who is a guaranteed starter for Thomas Tuchel’s side when fit, and chips in with plenty of goals and assists.

Despite managing just 26 games in the last Premier League campaign, the 22 year old still chipped in with 5 goals and 9 assists for the Blues, and is one of his side’s chief creators from the right hand side.

While there will certainly be added options to choose from with Chelsea in the hunt for centre-back reinforcement, James’ position as a right-wing-back means that he will be one of the first names on plenty of FPL teamsheets despite his 6m pricetag.

Mason Mount (Midfielder, 8m)

The only Blues player to register double figures in both goals and assists in the Premier League last season, Mason Mount’s price has increased to reflect this, handing a potential headache to some managers.

And, with more forward reinforcements expected, there is a risk that Mount could be rotated in and out of the side under Thomas Tuchel, but in truth this is unlikely, with the Englishman the heartbeat of Tuchel’s attacks.

The 23-year-old is also charged with taking set-pieces, a very fruitful avenue for Chelsea last campaign, and could be a sure-fire points returner regularly.

Ben Chilwell (Defender, 6m)

Ben Chilwell’s 21/22 campaign was cut short by a major ACL injury, which sidelined him for much of the season and makes this perhaps the most risky selection of them all.

However, in his seven League games for the Blues, he kept four clean sheets, while he also contributed 3 goals and an assist, working out at over 0.5 contributions per game.

While James will understandably headline proceedings, Chilwell on the opposite flank could be a key differential for some managers, and with the future of Marcos Alonso still unclear, he could be a guaranteed starter for all of the season if he can stay fit.
