Ireland v Belgium
Friendly match at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin
TV: Virgin Media Two, Premier Sports & Viaplay, Saturday, 5pm
Belgium are not a bad team at all. They have a great squad thanks to all the players they can call up. Yes, they’re without Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku here and Ireland’s interim manager, John O’Shea, hopefully, it goes quite well for him.
Timing is everything in football and maybe with O’Shea being there at the right time could land the job. He’s got a great manner about him and hopefully, coaching-wise, he gets a little bit of a break over these games.
However, I do expect Belgium to win 1-2. I reckon it’ll be very tight but I’m backing Belgium to Win as well as Both Teams to Score.
Where will the goals come from? I’m picking Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard to Score. He’s a fantastic player, he doesn’t always play regularly for Arsenal but he’s got some great skills and I see him scoring.
I’m also backing Even Ferguson, who I’m a big admirer of, to have at least one Shot on Target and Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku to also have at least one Shot on Target. He’s a real livewire and frightened the life out of me when he was playing against Liverpool a short while ago. I think he’s a star in the making.
