Thomas Partey is facing an extended period out of action after undergoing a procedure for a thigh injury.
Arsenal anticipates the 30-year-old midfielder to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, raising the possibility of him being unavailable until next year.
Partey’s Premier League participation has been limited to four appearances this season, primarily due to a groin injury that kept him out throughout September.
His most recent game was in the early days of last month during Arsenal’s victory over Manchester City.
This latest setback will see him miss Ghana’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.
He is however expected to be fit in time for the start of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in January.
