Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says Thomas Partey is still disappointed following Ghana’s early exit at the 2022 World Cup.
The 29 year old endured a difficult tournament as the Black Stars failed to make it to the knockout stage after finishing bottom of Group H.
He has since rejoined his Arsenal teammates in Dubai as the Gunners prepare ahead of domestic football’s return.
“He (Thomas Partey) played a lot and he was disappointed by the way he had to leave the World Cup but it happens to every nation that they are out. It takes a few days to reset and to focus on the team,” the Arsenal boss said.
“The good thing we have is that everybody has been showing that they are desperate to get back as quickly as possible. It was really good to have those two back today playing some minutes.”
Arteta’s table-toppers resume their Premier League campaign at home to West Ham on December 26.
