Villarreal suffered a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in a friendly match on Sunday, with Ghana’s Thomas Partey making his unofficial debut.
The Ghanaian midfielder, was part of the Villarreal team, having signed with the club just a day before the match.
Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia scored the goals for their team in the 23rd and 49th minutes, respectively.
The match saw both teams create tons of scoring opportunities, but Aston Villa’s clinical finishing proved to be the difference-maker. Villarreal will look to regroup and improve their performance in upcoming matches.
