Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, delivered disappointing news regarding midfielder Thomas Partey, stating that the Ghanaian international has encountered a setback in his recovery, rendering him unavailable for the upcoming matches.
The gaffer shared the information during a press conference, revealing that Partey experienced an issue in a similar area to his previous injury.
The issue has prevented the midfielder from participating in training over the past few days.
The manager expressed uncertainty about the timeline for Partey’s return, indicating that it could be a matter of days or weeks.
The setback comes as a blow to Arsenal, depriving them of the services of the talented midfielder ahead of their crucial fixture against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
Partey has missed nearly three months of action due to thigh injuries.
“With Thomas unfortunately we had a little set back a few days ago. He’s not going to be available in the squad.
“We don’t know if it’s a few days or weeks. He felt something in a very similar area & he wasn’t able to train the last few days.”
