Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has heaped praise on Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus, describing him as a key figure in Spurs’ attack and the reason he remains first choice on the right wing.

Kudus, 25, joined Tottenham in the summer from West Ham United and has quickly become a vital part of Frank’s setup.

Speaking ahead of Spurs’ UEFA Champions League clash against AS Monaco, the Danish manager explained that Kudus’ consistent performances and adaptability make him hard to drop.

“Of course, Mo Kudus has done very well on the right, for example, and then on the left I actually think Wilson has done well. It’s just a little bit of competition,” Frank told the press.

He acknowledged the quality of his other forwards, including Brennan Johnson, but said Kudus’ form gives him the edge. “Brennan is a very important player… but Mo Kudus has done very well on the right,” he added.

Kudus, who travelled with the Spurs squad to France, is expected to start against Monaco on Wednesday night as the London side look to strengthen their European campaign.
