This ex-Kotoko striker doubts Porcupine Warriors can retain Ghana Premier League title after CAF Champions League shambles —

Former Asante Kotoko striker Stephen Manu, affectionately called B.A, has expressed concern over the Porcupine Warriors’ ability to win the Ghana Premier League title they won last season.

The 37-year-old was left unimpressed with the performance of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League champions as they suffered elimination against Burkina Faso champions RC Kadiogo at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday afternoon.

Manu, who spent 3 seasons playing at Kotoko before being transfer listed by head coach Ebo Mends, at the end of the 2009/10 season, believes it would be near impossible for Kotoko to defend their league title.

“Per what I saw today from the performance of the team if they are to replicate this same performance I am sure they can’t retain the league title,” he told Kumasi-based Pure FM.

Kotoko have won the Ghana Premier League title 24 times.
