Thiago Silva outlines hopes for Chelsea’s Premier League campaign – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Thiago Silva believes Chelsea can win the Premier League in 2022/23 despite the competition being hotter than ever.

The likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have strengthened significantly this summer, while Man Utd and Liverpool have pulled off some shrewd business too, making the upcoming campaign a mouthwatering prospect.

Having finished third last season, Chelsea have arguably been weakened following the departures of defenders Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen and striker Romelu Lukaku, although Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly have arrived by way of replacement.

Despite the intense competition facing them, veteran centre-back Silva believes the Blues can still triumph domestically.

Speaking to the club’s official website, when asked what his ambition for the new season was, Silva responded: “To win the Premier League.

“It’s a very difficult league to play in, but I think it’s possible.”

Chelsea begin their campaign away to Everton on Saturday, and Silva admitted he and his teammates were not quite ready yet after what has been a challenging pre-season.

“We have to do things well now during the week before the start of the Premier League,” he said. “I think we are not at 100% quite yet, but we must work hard and well this week to arrive ready for Saturday.”
