Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito says his team is already working to fill the void left by striker Albert Amoah, who has completed a move to Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi

The Kotoko boss stressed that the situation presents an opportunity for others within the squad to prove their worth.

“It’s up to the players to also prove that they deserve to be there. We must continue with what we have to get what we want,” he said.

“It’s all about attitude. Definitely, he is gone. There is no need to continue crying. We won’t get him back, so we are preparing the other players to take over,” Zito added.

Amoah’s transfer was confirmed shortly after Kotoko’s CAF Confederation Cup exit to Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, ending the forward’s impressive spell in Kumasi. His departure leaves a gap in attack as the Porcupine Warriors look to maintain their spark in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.
