First meets second in the biggest game of the League of Ireland Premier Division so far as Shamrock Rovers welcome Derry City to the Tallaght Stadium this Friday night with just a point separating either side in the race for the title.
We’re only 15 games into the season, and with 11 more to go, this will be a massive game between the two set to lead the way in the right for the title as third-placed St Patrick’s Athletic are already trailing Derry by eight points to create a two-horse race in the League of Ireland.

Shamrock are also targeting a fourth title in a row after winning the past three, and winning here would register victory number 11 from 16 games this season, as they are now boasting of just three draws and two defeats in the league.
With only a point separating either side here, their goals difference record just optimizes how tight it is between these two clubs.
Derry are the leading scorers in the league with their 29 goals from 15 games, as Shamrock have netted 27 in contrast. On the other hand, both sides have let in a league-low of just 11 goals each thus far, and it all points to a close game here.
As for the league leaders, Stephen Bradley’s men have not lost a game in their past 11 fixtures in the league since they lost to St Patrick’s Athletic 1-0 away from home.
The club have gone on to register impressive wins over the likes of St Patrick’s and Dundalk ever since that day, while they beat Sligo Rovers 3-1 last time out.
Graham Burke was the hero once again in the last game as he netted a hat-trick in what has been a fantastic start to the season for the Irishman – all three goals came within only 14 minutes of each other in the second half.
Derry, on the other hand, are winless in their past two games as they drew 0-0 with St Patrick’s and 1-1 with Bohemians.
It has now pushed them into second after previously dropping points only four times including just one defeat all season.
Shelbourne have been the only club to beat them this campaign, as they edged past them in a 1-0 win.
There’s just a point in this early two-horse race, and with barely anything separating them in the goals department, it’s going to be a close one. Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
