President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has set target for the Black Stars players at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars head to the tournament with the aim of ending the 42-year wait for the trophy since 1982.
At the farewell dinner, President Akufo-Addo charged the squad to make the nation proud.
“Government, with the active support of the GFA, has made all the arrangements necessary.
“We have to go further and bring the 41-year drought to an end. The task might appear daunting but it is possible.”
The team has left the country en-route to Côte d’Ivoire for the continental event which kicks off on Saturday 13th of January to 11th February.
Ghana will engage Cape Verde in a campaign opener on Sunday before facing Egypt and Mozambique subsequently.
