German-born Ghanaian centre-back Abdul-Malik Yago has rejoined Regionalliga Nord IV side Eintracht Norderstedt ahead of the 2025/26 football season, the club has officially confirmed.
The 23-year-old makes a return to his boyhood club after departing in 2019 during his time with their U19 setup.
He signs from fellow lower-division side FC Teutonia 05, where he made 25 appearances across all competitions in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign.
“Eintracht Norderstedt’s personnel planning is in full swing. The fifth new signing also fits perfectly into the ‘Norderstedt Way,’ as Malik Yago already played for us in the youth system,” the club announced.
Explaining his decision to reunite with the club, Yago told the club’s official website: “The overall package at Eintracht Norderstedt convinced me right away. The club’s clear vision of building sustainable success together and the coach’s ambitious approach are a perfect fit for the next step in my athletic development.”
Sporting director Frank Spitzer also praised the acquisition, noting, “I’ve had my eye on him for a few years now. He’s a very exciting player with strong qualities as a central defender. Several clubs were interested, so we’re very pleased he chose us.”
Yago, who is eligible to represent Ghana internationally due to his heritage, remains uncapped at senior level for Germany, keeping his international options open.
