The future seems to be shaping up for Frenkie De Jong. After being announced on the shelves of several clubs, it is Manchester United who would be the closest to recruiting the Dutchman. However, there is still work to be done. The Red Devils have opened negotiations with Barça since June 1 and have made their first offer to the Catalans, up to €60m + €10m in bonuses. FC Barcelona refused but discussions remain open.
According to Reshad Rahman, Barca are expecting €100m, including bonuses for their midfielder. De Jong has still not given his preference and is waiting to see how the situation evolves. In any case, his departure now seems inevitable.
