Fulham have confirmed the departure of Ghanaian-Finnish striker Terry Ablade, whose contract will expire at the end of June 2025.
The 23-year-old forward, who spent last season on loan at Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle, will now be seeking a new challenge after six years with the Premier League club.
Ablade joined Fulham’s academy in 2018 from Finnish outfit FC Jazz, arriving in London at just 17. Known for his pace, physical strength, and natural goal-scoring instincts, he impressed at youth level and quickly rose through the ranks of the U18 and U23 squads.
However, a breakthrough into the senior team proved elusive, as competition in Fulham’s attacking department limited his opportunities.
To gain first-team experience, Ablade went on a number of loan spells, with his most recent at Partick Thistle during the 2024/25 season.
Although he saw limited minutes overall, he delivered one of the campaign’s most memorable moments ; scoring a dramatic 97th-minute winner in a 2-1 victory over Falkirk in April. The last-gasp goal lit up Firhill Stadium and briefly boosted Thistle’s playoff hopes. Ablade later described the connection with the fans during that moment as “amazing.”
Despite flashes of brilliance, his return of two goals during the loan spell wasn’t enough to convince Fulham to offer a contract extension.
Now a free agent, Ablade stands at a career crossroads. Still only 23, he has time on his side to rediscover his form and find a club that offers regular playing time. His dual eligibility for Ghana and Finland adds further intrigue to his next move, as he remains uncapped at the senior international level.
Neither Ablade nor Fulham have issued public statements regarding the departure, but the striker is expected to assess new opportunities in the coming weeks as he looks to reignite his career; whether in the UK, Europe, or further afield.
