Bayern Munich cruised to a dominant 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Telekom Cup, with 17-year-old Jonah Kusi-Asare grabbing the spotlight at the Allianz Arena.
The Swedish-Ghanaian wonderkid, who came on for Harry Kane in the 68th minute, needed just over ten minutes to announce himself by curling a sensational right-footed finish into the top corner after linking up with Paul Wanner.
Kane, who is facing his former side, opened the scoring in the 12th minute after connecting with a neat pass from Michael Olise. Kingsley Coman extended the lead in the 61st minute with a thunderous strike from distance before Lennart Karl added Bayern’s third in the 75th minute.
Kusi-Asare’s goal wrapped up a commanding performance for the Bundesliga champions, who were in control throughout the match.
Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus, who started and played the entire game, found it difficult to make an impact against a Bayern side that dominated both possession and territory.
The win keeps Bayern’s unbeaten run against Spurs intact, now boasting five wins and a draw in six meetings.
Bayern will next face Swiss side Grasshoppers on August 12, while Tottenham turn their attention to a UEFA Super Cup clash with PSG.
