Global AI-powered technology brand TECNO has been announced as a Global Partner for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments in Morocco 2025 and the East African trio of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in 2027.
The announcement was made in Nairobi, Kenya, solidifying TECNO’s ongoing collaboration with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following a successful partnership during the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire, where TECNO served as the exclusive smartphone sponsor.
CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba welcomed the renewed alliance, saying:
“The impressive growth and success of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations has resulted in several exciting sponsorship agreements. The partnership with TECNO will contribute to the tournament’s continued expansion, helping it reach new markets and audiences. On behalf of CAF and our 54 Member Associations, we thank TECNO for investing in African football.”
Benjamin Jiang, Vice President of Transsion Holdings; TECNO’s parent company underscored the brand’s commitment to Africa through football and technology.
“This renewed partnership is a testament to the deep trust and shared success we’ve built with CAF,” Jiang said. “Football ignites passion and inspires dreams, and AI-powered technology is a powerful tool to connect and empower millions across Africa.”
He added:
“This partnership goes beyond the game. It’s a symbol of ambition and a platform where young people can shine; united by an unstoppable spirit of progress. It reflects our shared vision of using AI-driven innovation to shape a brighter future for Africa.”
With AFCON 2025 and 2027 on the horizon, the partnership between TECNO and CAF is poised to elevate both football and digital engagement across the continent.
