Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey is on course to become a free agent, with his current deal at Brighton & Hove Albion set to expire on June 30, 2025.
The 24-year-old right-back, who made the switch from Chelsea in 2020, could be heading for the exit after five years on the South Coast.
Lamptey emerged as a key figure at the Amex Stadium, especially during Roberto De Zerbi’s tenure. However, with no extension talks underway, his future at Brighton remains uncertain.
If no agreement is reached by next month, the speedy defender will be forced to search for a new club ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Adding to his woes, Lamptey will be unavailable for Brighton’s final league clash of the campaign against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Seagulls are set to conclude their season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium without the injured full-back, who has been sidelined with a knee issue.
He also missed Brighton’s dramatic 3-2 win over Liverpool in their penultimate game, having sustained the injury in the previous match against Wolves; just weeks after returning from a foot problem.
Injuries have plagued Lamptey’s season, restricting him to only 15 Premier League appearances in which he registered two goals and two assists. Across all competitions, he featured 20 times and had a hand in five goals.
