Tanzanian football rivals, Young Africans SC and Simba SC, are reportedly engaged in a bidding war for the services of prolific Ghanaian attacker Jonathan Sowah from Medeama SC.
The competition to secure Sowah’s signature has intensified following his noteworthy performance in the recent CAF Champions League encounter, where he scored for Medeama in a 1-1 draw against Tanzanian champions Simba SC. Young Africans SC officials were reportedly present to witness Sowah’s talent firsthand.
Sowah, 24, has made a significant impact since joining Medeama, becoming a key player in orchestrating attacking plays. His departure would undoubtedly leave a void, considering his impressive goal-scoring record—18 goals in 33 matches since his debut last year, with 7 goals in 13 games in the ongoing campaign, including notable contributions in the Champions League.
The Ghanaian forward, who recently made his competitive debut for the Ghana national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Comoros, has attracted interest not only from Tanzanian clubs but also from Egyptian sides Al Ahly SC and Pyramids FC.
