Tamale City FC secures promotion to Ghana Premier League after mini tournament success

Lower-tier side, Tamale City FC has secured promotion to play in the Ghana Premier League next season.

The club is one of three teams drafted by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) last month to engage in a mini tournament to battle for a place in the Ghanaian top-flight league.

The mini-tournament became necessary to have a team replace Ashanti Gold SC, a club that has been demoted to the Division Two League.

Today, Tamale City FC took on Ebusua Dwarfs in the final match of the three-team mini tournament.

After a 1-1 draw with Ebusua Dwarfs, Tamale City FC has topped the standings of the tournament with four points, the highest of all the three teams.

As a result, Tamale City FC has secured promotion to play in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
