Tamale City coach Hamza Mohammed gives detailed account of Dormaa incident

Tamale City coach Hamza Mohammed has given his version of events following the unfortunate incident that occurred after the Match day 25 encounter against Aduana Stars FC on Sunday.

The away team were allegedly attacked outside the Nana Agyemang Badu Park by fans of Aduana in Dormaa.

The Ogya boys needed a 90+10 minute penalty to emerge 1-0 winners over Tamale City and stretched their lead at the top of the table to 44 points, three ahead of second-place Bechem United.

The Ghana FA have ordered a temporary ban on their use of the Nana Agyeman Badu park as home venue.

“It is just a normal football we are playing we are even in the relegation zone and they tried to win the game they are on top of the log. Not knowing that they have different agenda we went and first half no score second half no score. They added 10 minutes goal did not come we played seven in addition by force someone should score we don’t have any problem,” Hamza told Peace FM

“17 minutes added time one referee Sefa from Kumasi officiated the game. I wish if you contact any independent person just ask for the videos and see. Penalty is in football but legit penalty is awarded not a wrong one you have given it to them no problem they have scored after scoring too leave us and let us go. When we restarted the game and he ended the game. After full time stones…before that a substance that when you put on someone it itches was placed on our bench we couldn’t sit down they placed that substance all over the place if you sit then your whole body itches,”

“Me been as a coach I received some when we went to the center line they escorted us to our bus and they started pelting stones on us. They have destroyed our bus five of our players are injured one has been admitted. Yesterday that was the football you have scored me…cheated me and scored I didn’t say anything let me go. Even if we have a past problem with them does two wrongs makes a right No. We did not do them anything when they came we beat them 2-1,”

“As a matter of fact when we came into the Premier League they were the first team we beat 2-1. They are alleging a lot of things when we went to technical meeting yesterday before our officials will leave they were held hostage for almost two hours. We reported it for them to come back from Dormaa to Sunyani and Sunyani to Dormaa is a long journey so we were late because of that we could do warm up they didn’t allow us to warm up from inspection straight to the game they couldn’t beat us then they use that wrong penalty,”

“The incident started on the pitch then we were escorted to our car when we sat down if you know Dormaa it is very close to the dressing room were the buses are. When we sat in our car and they started throwing stones. Five players were injured four are minor one player when they were throwing the stones glass cut his eye. He had four stitches but his condition is fine this morning. We reported in Sunyani and they got referral because our budget is low we couldn’t sleep in Sunyani,”
