Tagoe clinched a dream move to Europe after four years in the Arab League but before he could kick a ball, there were suggestions from Hoffeinheim that he had a heart defect that was going to hamper his football.
He insists that episode was one of those things and returned from it to score three times in the Budesliga.
“It was a great joy for me and a great relief to have come back from the problems to play and score. Now it is up to me to consolidate things,” Tagoe told KickOffGhana.com.
Consolidation for him will start with a place in the final 23 for the World Cup will be settled on by Milovan Rajevac.
“First I hope I will be picked for the final squad and then I will give my 100 per cent if I get to play in the World Cup. It is the stage that makes players.”
