Black Stars left back Gideon Mensah has dismissed claims that current squad feel uneasy amid a couple of foreign born players seeking to switch nationality to Ghana.
There are several reports in the media that there is growing fear and disquiet within the playing body over recent development of luring players to play for the country.
The Ghana football Association is making frenetic attempt to switch the allegiance of foreign-born players including Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea and Brighton from Premier League side Brighton.
Athletic Club forward Inaki Williams and his brother Nico, are also in the frame.
Mensah is not perturbed with the move by the GFA officials, “for us the players, at some point were also not in the Black Stars of Ghana.”
“We are talking about the national team, we don’t own Ghana because it is for the people and so the main objective is what we have to do to make Ghanaians happy so if they are coming and we are going to win the World Cup or help improve our games and win games, we are all for it,” He said on star sport.
“The best thing I can do for myself is to work very very hard and be in the team for all of us to contribute our best to make history in Qatar,” the Red bull Salzburg left back added.”
The Black Stars are in Group H of the FIFA World Cup to battle Portugal, Korea Republic and the South American giants Uruguay in Qatar coming November.
