Swansea manager Gary Monk says Andre Ayew has quality to light up English Premier League

Swansea City manager says Ghana star Andre Ayew has the quality to light up the Premier League.

Ayew scored his first goal for the Welsh club in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, and could easily have netted a couple more.

The 25-year-old turned down the likes of Roma, Spurs and Newcastle to move to the Liberty Stadium after leaving Marseille.

His arrival is a major coup for Monk, and he expects his star signing to make an impact once the action kicks off with a trip to champions Chelsea a week on Saturday.

He said: “He has the obvious quality to score goals in the Premier League.

“It’s a totally different test from anywhere he has been before. He understands and it’s not going to be as easy as probably he’s had before.

“But he is looking forward to it and he has the quality to do it. I am looking for us to step up in that department and he has the ability to help us do that.”
