Sulley Muntari sent off for restraining referee from showing Mario Balotelli a yellow card

Perhaps driven mad by Milan’s garish new gold kit, Sulley Muntari was sent off in just the 40th minute of their match against Roma for trying to physically restrain the referee from showing Mario Baotelli a yellow card.

As incredibly dumb as Muntari’s actions were, the incident was something of a continuation of what he did last week in Milan’s match against Torino.

Balotelli took his shirt off after scoring late in the second half of that game, earning an automatic caution.

But Muntari took the card off the ref and showed it to Balotelli himself before handing it back to its rightful owner.

To his credit, the referee laughed it off and went about his business.
