Head coach of Sudan, James Kwasi Appiah, has boldly assured fans that his team will secure a crucial victory over Ghana in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Tuesday.
Appiah’s side will face Ghana on October 15 in Benghazi, Libya, in the reverse fixture of the qualification campaign, following a goalless draw in the first leg in Ghana.
Sudan survived a dominant second-half performance by Ghana, which saw the Black Stars miss several clear chances.
Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, remarked that Sudan was fortunate to escape with a draw.
“We played Ghana and managed to get a draw in a difficult game,” Kwesi said.
“In the return leg, it won’t be easy, but Insha Allah (God willing), we’ll fight and secure a victory for Sudan.”
Ahead of the match, Sudan sit second in Group F with four points, while Ghana are third with two points from three games.
