VfB Stuttgart have ruled out any possibility of letting Ghanaian winger Justin Diehl leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window.
Diehl, 20, joined Stuttgart from FC Köln in 2024 but has endured a difficult spell due to recurring injuries. Despite limited playing time, the Bundesliga club remains fully committed to the youngster’s long-term development.
Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth told BILD that Diehl is not for sale this winter.
“We currently have no plans to let him go in the winter,” he said.
Wohlgemuth explained that although injuries have slowed Diehl’s progress, the winger has shown clear signs of his potential.
“Justin hasn’t had an easy time with us so far due to the setbacks from various injuries. Nevertheless, he has more than hinted at why we were so keen to sign him. He’s technically gifted, possesses tremendous pace, and has the drive to constantly improve.”
He added that Diehl’s personality and work ethic give the club confidence that he will grow into an important player.
The Ghana-eligible winger has resumed full training after recovering from a ligament injury and is in contention for Stuttgart’s matchday squad this weekend when they face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, November 22.
